The police urge caution when making financial decisions and remind that bank employees never ask for logins, passwords or authorization codes.

A 66-year-old resident of Bielsk County received a call from a man posing as a bank employee. The scammer informed him of an alleged account hack and the withdrawal of 55,000 złoty. He then informed him that the money had been recovered and returned to the owner's account. The caller instructed him on how to secure his savings, which led to the withdrawal and deposit of the money into other accounts.

After a few days, the fraudster contacted the victim again, demanding the rest of the money . The man withdrew another 30,000 złoty, explaining to bank employees that he needed the money to buy a tractor. He deposited the funds into an account at another bank. Only after analyzing the transaction did he realize he had fallen victim to fraud.

The police urge people to exercise extreme caution when making financial decisions. Bank employees will never disclose information about funds at risk and will never request login information, passwords, or authorization codes. If you experience any attempted fraud, please notify the police immediately by calling 112.
